This is the third phase in Atkins Diet, as mentioned in <strong><a href="http://www.atkinsfree.com/understanding-the-atkins-diet-plan-as-the-first-step-to-lose-weight/">Understanding Atkins Diet As The First Step To Lose Weight</a></strong>.<br />
<br />
The ideas in the third phase of Atkins Diet are almost the same as the ones in the <strong><a href="http://www.atkinsfree.com/ongoing-weight-loss-after-the-first-two-weeks-in-the-atkins-diet-plan/">SECOND PHASE</a></strong>. The carbohydrate ladder is considered again while adding more carbs into the diet plan. The amount of the carbohydrates added per day is 10 grams. Larger treat can be added once in a week say 20 grams or 30 grams. But be very careful not to overdo your carbs!<br />

<strong><em>#1 is to evaluate the amount of carbohydrates that needed to be eaten without any weight gained<br />
#2 is to slow down the weight loss to the desired weight<br />

Again, the keys to success this time are<br />
<br />
<strong><em>#1 Continue controlling your diet, or rather your cravings!<br />
#2 Add carbohydrates progressively<br />
#3 Plan your meal, be creative but don’t overdo it<br />

The second phase starts <strong><span style="color: #000000;">  by adding few carbs to your diet</span></strong>. Don’t be surprised!<br />

Although I said you have to add carbs to your diet, it doesn’t mean you will have to start over with phase one. Well, of course you will have to start over if you don&#8217;t control your diet during the second phase. <strong><span style="color: #000000;">  Increase your intake of carbohydrates but make sure you don&#8217;t overdo it</span></strong>. The weight loss shifts from extreme weight loss to one or two pounds weight loss per week.<br />

The dieter can figure out very effectively that what amount of carbohydrates should be added in the diet in the beginning of the second phase. You would have to add carb around <strong><span style="color: #000000;">  five grams a week</span></strong> in your diet with each passing week. This continues until you reach the appropriate level.<br />
<br />
Add more carbohydrates progressively and in order according to priority. This is called <strong><span style="color: #000000;">  carbohydrate ladder</span></strong>. This ladder makes the dieter more aware about the introduction of food added to the diet progressively.<br />
<br />
The time frame for this phase is until the dieter reaches weight just a few pounds away from the desired weight.<br />
<br />
Following are the goals of the ongoing weight loss phase:<br />
<br />
<strong><em>#1 is to determine the CCLL (critical carbohydrate level for losing)<br />
#2 is to increase the choices of food<br />
#3 is to continue with the weight loss at safer rate<br />
#4 is to continue with the food of low crab</em></strong><br />

Vegetables are good source for low carbs. This is one of rules you have to stick to and work on. The alcoholic and caffeinated beverages are not allowed in this dieting plan.<br />

There are three main goals for the induction phase and they are:<br />

Atkins Diet was introduced in 1972 when Dr Atkins Diet Revolution hit the markets. <p>The target of this phase is to make the transition from weight loss to weight maintenance by increasing the daily carbohydrate intake in 10-gram increments each week so long as very gradual weight loss is maintained. Also, you can experiment various other foods to see whether they add your body weight or not. If found safe, you could add it to your Atkins diet food products.</p>

<p><strong>4. Lifetime Maintenance</strong></p>
<p>This phase is designed to maintain your target weight. I encourage you to stick with the fourth phase of atkins diet for life, to remain healthy and avoid gaining weight.</p>
